In the last 10 years, we have had MAYBE 20-30 Fridays that we haven't had pizza. That's 20-30 fridays out of 500 someodd Fridays. I am a creature of habit and to me pizza means WEEKEND! But, I'm not exactly a teenager anymore and as it turns out, Friday pizza just doesn't make sense anymore.
Friday is my day off. Actually Friday is our least busy day of the whole week. It makes a whole lot more sense to cook on the day I actually have off and we're not rushing in 3 or 4 different directions. We'll still get our junkfood fix, but it can be one of our busier week nights instead of Friday.
A 10 year tradition, silly, but if feels like I'm changing something important. So instead of Friday being pizza night, we're going to be doing Friday Family Fun night. Taking a hint from our weekend in the trailer, we're going to play a board game or Wii. The kids want time with us more than anything and it's so easy to forget that.
So, goodbye Pizza Night and hello Friday Family Fun Night. I hope this is a tradition we keep for as long as we kept Pizza Night.
