Monty

"Monty? You used monty? You can't use monty" I argued.

"Why not?" he responded.

"Because, you can't use a word that you can't explain to them" I said and smiled.

"I didn't think anyone would ask me to explain it to them" he snipped back.

"There were plenty of words that I could have put out there. Things that went through my mind, but I knew better than to spell out in front of the children"

He took the word out of play and we both went back to finding the next solution to win our game of Bananagrams. This time, my team won. He and my other daughter looked forlorn, so I gave him another chance.

"If you're willing to explain what a monty is to your daughters, if it's that important to you, then you can win the game"

And the funny thing is, he did.

The man who has dodged every possible embarrassing question since birth managed to explain to my daughters what a full monty is. AND he did it with a straight face. You know what this tells me? Next time they ask one of those ridiculous questions, I'm sending them straight to him. I may have to challenge him to a little wager, but it will be completley worth it.

Life as we know it is about to change.
