Compass

There are a few people you will brush up against in this world, that change you forever, in those monumental, but invisible ways.  They are the friends who follow you, not because of where you’re going, but because you will be there.  They see your flaws, but overlook them for your beauty.   They know your secrets and they keep them.  They love you and hold you close, even when you are hundreds of miles and year after year apart.  They know you, even when you can’t remember who you are.  They love you when you are unlovable, because they can see you, even with your eyes closed and your face covered. Even after time and distance and the silence that stretches further than either, a single conversation brings you back to center.  They are your compass.  They are your touchstone. They are very few and far between and they are worth every last ounce of your love.
