Overheard in My House

“What did you just do?!” me.

“Um.. I… well… she…” her.

“I just saw you hit your sister in the mouth!” me.

“Well, *whine.. mumble*” her.

“How about you just take a moment and think of an explanation, because what I just saw was you reach over and hit your sister in the mouth” me.

 “Well… she wanted me to shut up, but she didn’t say that.  She pretended to put duct tape over my mouth to make me be quiet. “ her.

I stared at her.

“And then I took the tape off my mouth and then I tried to tape it on her mouth… and I missed” her.

“So…” me.

And I just stared.

“So… you’re telling me you accidentally hit your sister in the mouth when you tried to tape her mouth shut with imaginary duct tape?” me.

“Well it sounds stupid when you say it” her.
